(TO MAKE THE CHOCOLATE FILLED HEART:
mold
the chocolate into a heart, and pipe or spoon
chocolate-ganache mousse
into it.) |

| Romance can even start at
breakfast time. A tradition in my house is to start the day with
Homemade Buttermilk Pancakes.
(We sometimes celebrate the weekend before so we can have
them). I make mine in heart shapes by pouring the batter with a tablespoon
and quickly drawing a heart shape on the griddle.
(Heart-shapes can be used when pouring pancake batter. Go to
http://www.williams-sonoma.com). I love to serve them with
a "red" topping--I make a
Raspberry Puree and serve along with
with maple syrup.

The Dark Chocolate Cheesecake
Recipe
is the best. My recipe is a reduced-fat version and it is so creamy and
delicious. It's a great heart-healthy desert to serve especially on
Valentine's Day.
Even drizzling
hot
fudge sauce over ice cream makes a simple and great
dessert. |

I like to make brownies
and cut them out with a small heart-shaped cookie cutter. The
Frosted Brownie Recipe
is perfect for this. Bake in a 15-1/2 x 10-1/2 x 1-inch jelly
roll pan,
instead of the size specified in the recipe. Let cool in the pan, and cut
with a cookie cutter. Frost each one and place in a large cupcake liner
decorated with little hearts or stack two of them with frosting in between
and on top. (The smaller the cookie cutter, the better, as they will fall
apart if made too large). Top with a few red hot candies made in
heart shapes. The kids love them.
Heart-shaped hard candy pops are fun to make and give.
Make enough for a bouquet or decorate your table with them. For a recipe
