Humidity can cause them to turn cloudy.
Are you pouring them into molds? If so, some molds can cause this to occur as well.
If the cloudiness is only on the outside, try torching them briefly, to bring back the shine.

Ditto! Waiting for my niece to email the cookie decorating party pix (this past Sat). Taught them how to make RI, load a piping bag, use piping tips for various effects. I think their fave part was working with the fondant, tho. Had to hide the disco dust and brushes... they were going a bit overboard ...
